Australian Chapter

Welcome to the Australian Chapter of MILS!

We are a growing community of legal professionals - lawyers, judges, academics, law students, legal support staff and affiliated professionals working within the legal profession - dedicated to integrating mindfulness and wellbeing into the practice of law in Australia.

We believe a more mindful legal profession supports a more mindful legal culture, promotes compassionate enquiry, enhances lawyer wellbeing and results in excellent client service, upholding the rule of law and supporting our communities.

About Us

The Australia Chapter seeks to foster a more mindful and values-aligned legal community across our diverse legal systems and institutions. Whether through meditation, contemplative practices, or other tools for self-awareness and emotional intelligence, we support legal professionals in cultivating well-being, reducing stress, and promoting ethical decision-making.

Our vision is to normalize mindfulness and mental health practices in legal education and workplaces throughout Australia.

We welcome all lawyers, academics, law students and allied professionals from across Australia to join MILS and contribute to the pursuit of our vision.

Whether you're new to mindfulness or an experienced practitioner, we invite you to join us in cultivating a more mindful legal profession.
