About Us
The San Diego Chapter is the first MILS Chapter in California. The chapter signed its charter in 2025 and is led by Chair Jim Eischen and Vice-Chair James Maroulis.
About the Chair
Jim Eischen is a healthcare and corporate business attorney who has also provided numerous presentations on professional burnout mitigation, resilience, and utilizing mindfulness to overcome burnout for many years. He is a licensed yoga teacher, and the 2025 chair of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) wellness committee, having worked on enhancing attorney wellness for many years. He hosts a weekly meditation for the SDCBA wellness committee, and is also active with the SDCBA Law & Medicine Senior Advisors Section leadership.
Outside of law, Jim is a volunteer high school surf team coach, a professional musician performing locally in San Diego with a blues band (with several albums), and is passionate about local government and healthcare reforms needed both locally and nationally. Jim is excited to support MILS with a San Diego Chapter aimed at broadening the wellness services available to San Diego County attorneys, judges, and other important members of the broader legal community (including business partners, vendors, staff, administrators, law students, and anyone interested in a healthier legal system).
