1. What is the Mindfulness in Law Society (MILS)?
MILS is a nonprofit organization that promotes well-being in the legal profession by educating lawyers, law students, judges, and related professionals about mindfulness meditation, yoga, and other contemplative practices to support resilience, focus, and emotional regulation.

2. What does mindfulness mean?
Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present, aware, and non-judgmental in the current moment. It helps reduce stress, improve focus, manage emotions, and enhance compassion and clarity in daily life and work.

3.How does mindfulness help legal professionals?
Mindfulness can improve concentration, reduce stress and emotional reactivity, support better communication, and foster a more compassionate, present, and balanced approach to legal work.

4. Who are the Faculty Circle speakers?
MILS Faculty Circle instructors are vetted professionals with significant mindfulness training and teaching experience, as well as familiarity with the unique pressures of legal work. Many have backgrounds as lawyers, judges, or legal educators.

5. Can a program be customized for our audience?
Yes. MILS will work with you to match an instructor whose experience and offering aligns with your organization’s goals.

6. Are Faculty Circle sessions eligible for CLE credit?
Some sessions may qualify for continuing legal education (CLE) credit depending on your jurisdiction and program structure. The Faculty member will provide previously approved CLE materials (for example bio, program description supporting relevance to law practice) for the host organization to apply for CLE credit, but final approval must come from the hosting organization’s accrediting body.
