Los Angeles / Orange County Chapter
ABOUT US
The Los Angeles / Orange County Chapter formed in August 2025. Our intention is to foster Well-being and Mindfulness in the legal community through ongoing wellness practices, educational programming and community events.
While this chapter encompasses a large geographic region with many distinct and diverse communities, we believe these qualities are our strength. We look forward to empowering and engaging the Mindfulness community including legal professionals, academics, students and "recovering lawyers". If you are interested in sharing your time, talents or resources, please become a member and contact our Chapter co-chairs Bella Dilworth / Kenneth Chiu.
Events & Resources
MILS April Community Connections Event, Deep Rest for Busy Legal Minds
April 14th at 12 pm ET/ 11 am CT/ 9 am PT. led by Kara McCarthy Perry, NJ/NY Chapter Co-Chair
Drawing from the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra (sometimes called Non-Sleep Deep Rest) and scientific insights about rest and recovery, participants will experience a short, guided practice that invites deep relaxation and a mental reset—like closing the many open tabs in a browser. The practice is fully guided, requires no prior meditation experience, and offers a brief but powerful opportunity for restoration and replenishment during demanding times. Click here to register!
Spring Mindfulness Series
The State Bar of California Lawyer Assistance Program (LAP), in collaboration with MILS, invites legal professionals, bar applicants, and law students to a Spring Mindfulness Series, a four-part program designed to enhance well-being, resilience, and focus through mindfulness-based practices. This series brings together experts in attorney well-being, mindfulness, and holistic practices to introduce powerful tools for managing stress, improving focus, and fostering balance in the legal profession. Participants will explore foundational mindfulness techniques, learn strategies to support attention and emotional regulation, and engage in restorative practices to cultivate resilience.
